Today the design blog focuses on another Iron Wood Cabinet Company submission via Jason Syberg. Jason has this to say about his cabinetry, design statement and the reason for using the Faber Tratto hood:

"I designed and built these cabinets for Scott Ross owner of Timberhaven Homes in Kelowna BC. Scott builds some of the most beautiful homes I've seen. I had done a number of cabinet packages for Scott, so I was honoured when he asked me to do his personal home. The house is situated in Vinyeard Estates near Mission Hill Winery overlooking Okanagan Lake and acres of vineyards! We used rift cut white oak with a dark walnut stain complimented with white quartz countertop, and glass and metal details. The kitchen was finished off with high quality appliances such as Faber's Tratto glass and stainless range hood to create a modern, timeless look that will always be in style."

The Tratto hood blends in well into this well crafted kitchen. The glass shelving, white countertops and white tiles on the backsplash all compliment the minimal design of the Tratto. With 600 cfm's, stainless baffle filters, 2 level halogen lighting and electronic LED controls, the modern kitchen is enhanced by the hoods modern amenities.  Thank you once again to Jason at Iron Wood Cabinet Company and to Scott Ross of  Timberhaven Homes for sharing!

New to certain Faber hoods in the line is the updated advanced LED electronic controls (see photo left). You can see more about these controls by watching our Youtube video on the bottom of this post.

The Diamante hood on the left is one example of the hoods utilizing this new control system. Also, the Tratto and Stilo hoods also use this same control system.

The new control features the following:

• 3 speed electronic touch control
• A 10 minute intensive speed button
• A 30 minute auto shut off timer
• 2 level halogen lighting
• A red LED read out screen to indicate the current feature in use.

Tratto rangehood - a stunning glass and stainless steel hood

The Tratto Rangehood by Faber can be seen in this beautiful Boston area stainless steel kitchen. With a curved glass canopy and stainless steel construction, the Tratto can blend into many kitchen designs. In the case of this kitchen, the stainless refrigerator, oven and dishwasher all are complimented by the hood. There is also a true focal point created by the Tratto hood in this kitchen.

Minimalism is certainly being implemented in the overall kitchen design with basic cement tiles, simple dark wood cabinets with slim line drawer hardware. The stainless steel appliances are definitely the main attraction in this kitchen, and the glass canopy of the Tratto adds to the simple elegance of the kitchen. And finally, the ceran / smooth top, cooktop matches up perfectly with the Faber hood. Both products have clean lines and create more openness in the kitchen.

Tratto - glass and stainless beauty

The Tratto rangehood by Faber is a stunning hood that matches up well with a lot of cooking surfaces and room designs. For instance in this kitchen picture (courtesy of Euro-line Appliances) you see a traditional kitchen with dark counter tops and a gas cooktop, and neutral backsplash tiles. The Tratto which combines glass and stainless steel offers a "light" look in the kitchen because of the curved glass canopy section. As opposed to much larger canopy hoods on the market, the Tratto will still be the center of attention but yet won't detract too much from the wonderful kitchen design because it is a thin unobtrusive canopy. With a powerful 600 cfm pro motor, halogen lights and baffle style filters, the Tratto will perform very well over most cooking surfaces including pro gas cooktops/stoves - as seen in this photo.
